Today we tried out a new toddler approved activity and it was a fun and messy one!
We made SLIME!
This activity was fairly easy to prepare and cheap, but it entertained my toddlers for almost an hour!
To Play You Need:
1 tsp Borax
4 oz bottle of Elmer’s glue
Water 1-1/2 cup
Mix 1 cup water with borax in one bowl. In another bowl, empty glue bottle and add 1/2 cup water to it. Drop in a few drops of your desired food coloring and mix. Add the Borax mixture. Knead the mixture in the bowl until it starts to clump together and then pour the excess water out. Continue to play with the mixture until it is no longer wet and doesn’t stick to your hands. To store place in a ziplock bag or tupperware bowl.
After it was done I put ours in bowls to help contain the mess. It did help out, but it was still a pretty messy activity. Thankfully any mess that was made was very easily wiped up with a damp cloth. Quick and easy!
My dainty girl took a little bit to come around to it, but my messy little boy dove right in!
To implement some learning into their sensory activity, we talked about how the slime felt and what color it was. We also held some in our hands and watched how it started at the top and oozed down to the bottom.
Mama even had fun with this activity!
Hope y’all enjoy it!
