On the Agenda Today:
*Preschool Prep: Meet the Colors
*Yellow color hunt
*Walking a curved line
*Loaves and fishes coloring sheet
Today we started our school day with our Meet the Colors DVD. After we finished the video, we put our knowledge to good use! We had a yellow color hunt! We walked around the house and found objects that were yellow and talked about the color.
After our yellow hunt, we did an activity to help the kids learn to follow a line. I took some tape and made a zigzag on the floor. At the end of the zigzag I made a square. To help make this activity more successful for my kids, I showed them to walk the line and then hop in the square. This was the first time they have really followed a line! Something about having the square at the end helped them. I don’t know why, but I’m glad it did!
Our final activity today was our Bible study. We talked about Jesus feeding the 5,000 and then colored the 2 fishes and 5 loaves.
What I Learned Today:
Repetition is key! My kids finally caught onto walking a line after 3 tries at doing this activity before now. Sometimes I’m just going to have to be patient 🙂
