Hi y’all! My name is Jessica and I am the writer behind The Motley Moments. I am married to my best friend from high school and he is definitely my better half. In 2012 we joined an elite club for twin parents when our first (and last!) kids were born. Having twins was one of the biggest unexpected blessings in my life! They are not only amazing, but they have given me the opportunity to do what I feel like I was put on this earth to do: be a mother. God has blessed me more than I could ever have imagined. Even when the days are long and my patience is short, I wouldn’t trade this life for anything.
Why I Started The Motley Moments
When my twins were about 18 months, we started getting bored around here. I mean, how long can we play with the same toys day in and day out?! I began scouring the internet for ideas and it was pretty overwhelming, so I began tackling some of my own ideas as well as a toddler curriculum that I found over at Hands on Homeschooling. It was a major life changer in our home and my children were learning things easily by using play to teach them basic facts. My kids love having school so much that we officially invested in a curriculum for preschoolers from Timberdoodle. Once I saw how amazingly my kids took to the curriculum I decided to write about our experience in case there were any other parents in our position. The blog has grown and transformed into more than just our curriculum. It also is a place to connect with other parents and put my heart out there about subjects that are near and dear to me. I love writing and connecting with other moms (and dads!) who are on this crazy parenting ride. I want others to know that we are all in this together and that we should be lifting each other up instead of tearing each other down and I feel strongly that The Motley Moments is a place for just that.
